The key switch is a brushed stainless steel plate panel to be installed on the post of a fume hood and wired to the back of any TEL fume hood alarm. A provided key moves the switch between its two positions. The key may be removed from either position. The steel plate has the same dimensions as a standard light switch plate (2 3/4 inches wide by 4 1/2 inches tall).

The switch may be used in one of two ways according to customer preference.

1. 1. It may be wired to interrupt the power to the alarm system. In this way, the alarm will be completely deactivated, there will be no flashing lights etc.
   

2. 2. It can be connected to the alarm disable input on the back of the monitor and will mute the alarm when the key is turned. In this way, the LED lights will still indicate safe or unsafe airflow, but the audible alarm will be disabled.
